Check-in Policies

WELCOME

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Black Elk Resort and Taproom. We take great pride in our unique family-owned property here in the Heart of the Black Hills. We certainly hope that you enjoy your stay and that you love it as much as we do!

  • WIFI: Login and Password will be given upon check-in
  • Office hours: 7:30am-9:00pm hours may vary, Closed: 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Taproom hours: 2:00pm-9:00pm hours may vary MUST BE 21
  • WE DO NOT ACCEPT EARLY CHECK-INS. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Cottage Check-in: after 4:00 PM
  • Cottage Check out: 10:00 AM
  • PLEASE NOTE: NO RV CHECK-INS AFTER 9PM Mountain Time.
  • RV sites Check-in: after 2:00 PM -9pm

  • RV Check-out: 11 am

  • Late checkout policy for cottages and: after 15-minute grace period for checkout, guest will be charged for ½ day rate until noon) **We cannot make exceptions to our Check-out Policies.

  • Quiet time: 10:00pm-8:00am
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times.
  • All guests must check in with staff prior to going to cottage unless prior arrangements are made.
  • NO PETS allowed in the cottages or the lodge. There will be a $250.00 charge for unauthorized pets.
  • Amenities are for Registered Guests ONLY except the taproom which is open to the public. Please invite all your friends that are nearby!
  • NO SMOKING/VAPING in cottages, lodge or any buildings. $250.00 will be charged if this should occur. Please dispose of butts in receptacles. Please make sure windows and doors are closed if you choose to smoke/vape on the porch.
  • In order to avoid additional cleaning fees, please leave your cottage essentially as you found it. Please do not use towels/liners for spills or rags.
  • Housekeeping: upon request towels may be replaced after the 3rd nights stay. We do not provide housekeeping.
  • Please turn down heat and turn off AC when you leave for the day. Turn off tv and all lights. With the rising costs of energy, we really appreciate your help in keeping our cottage rates affordable.
  • ***PLEASE BE AWARE that we are on a very sensitive SEPTIC SYSTEM. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine hygiene products, diapers, Q-Tip’s, paper towels, Kleenex, food, or grease. DO NOT FLUSH WIPES! Even if it says flushable. Use only the toilet paper that we provide as it must be septic safe.
  • Laundry: 8:00am – Last load in by 8:00pm
  • No grills on picnic tables or cottage decks.
  • No parking on grass please.
  • No playing on rocks and please DO NOT remove them. Do not disturb rocks, shrubs, trees, or landscaping on the property. Please to not disturb landscaping near and around creek.
  • No charging of electric cars at this time.
  • Speed limit is 6.5 mph.
  • No refunds for early departures.

Black Elk Resort and reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. We will not be responsible for accidents or injuries to guests and/or loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind. Guests will be responsible for any theft, broken items or damage to property.
